Mark Your Calendars for Fist Friday Art Walk of each month. Next on May 7th at Las Comadres Restaurant, 129 Main Street, in Downtown Salinas. Time: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
World Dance, Poetry and Art Exhibit
Alisal Center for the Fine Arts' Latino world dance troupe, under the direction of Gema Sanchez de Garcia, will perform at Old Town Salinas Art Walk at Las Comadres Restaurant, two doors down from the National Steinbeck Center. Ritmo Latino's repertoire ranges from Hawaiian, Turkish, Egyptian, to River Dance-like presentations. Salinas poets Frank Benavidez, (Caminos del Arte), David Tamayo (Hijos del Sol), songs by Michael Perez (Quien Save), and Rafael Estrada of the Alisal Center for the Fine Arts and Western Stage will also premiere original short poetic work. This month's featured painter is David Tamayo. He follows last month's featured painter, the Arts Council's Professional Artists in the Schools, PAS, Kenji. Join us. Together we can make art a bigger part of the lives of everyone in our region.
